Info Vet Practices
We are here to help you and your clients during the difficult time of your client wishing to have their pet put to sleep in their own home. We established Cloud 9 Vets to create a genuinely beneficial solution for clients, their pets and your Vet Practice by providing respectful and dignified home euthanasia visits.
Since our start in October 2017, our goal has been to give pet owners more choice regarding pet euthanasia at home. Our objectives are extremely clear, we are a complement to the range of services you offer and, we aim to be an extension of your practice and team, absolutely not a competition to it. We want to be your at-home euthanasia partner, to be trusted when you need us.
Published in the Vet Times, Dr Caroline Hewson discusses how delivering ‘at home’ euthanasia and palliative care, could help relieve pressure on busy clinic and improve client retention; reports discussed show that up to £26k can be lost per vet during the first two years following in-house euthanasia. How we work with vet practices
As an extension of your practice team, our vets are able to attend at family orientated times such as evening and weekends, without disrupting the normal running of your practice. We offer longer, un-rushed appointments and provide literature to help with the healing process or bereavement if needed, after their pet has passed.
All our vets start with CPD where we focus on home euthanasia and how to make sure this difficult time a little bit easier with minimal stress, with the wishes of the client realised and the risk to the practice negated.
Our service ensures that your vets are not away from the practice for potentially long periods of time as lengths of a home visit can be unpredictable, and the client - practice bond is maintained through no negative association between the pets passing and your practice.
Home visits for euthanasia are a common request for veterinary practices, both in and out of normal opening hours. A 2018 survey, promoted by the Ralph site, indicated that overwhelmingly (97.5%) that families, when given the choice between euthanasisa at home or at the practice, will choose to be at home. A compelling argument to have access to a reliable and trusted at-home service.
Whether we become your home euthanasia partner or you would like to have an alternative during busy periods, you are welcome to have our link on your site for free to guide your clients to us.
