Home Euthanasia for Dogs and Cats

We are here to help you and your clients in the difficult time when the clients would like to have their dog or cat put to sleep in their own home.

You are welcome to have our link on your site for free to guide your clients to us when you do not have opened or if you do not have time to do a home visit for Euthanasia.

Our Vets are able to attend at family-orientated times such as evenings and weekends without disrupting the normal running of a practice. They can offer longer, un-rushed appointments and provide literature to help with the healing process or bereavement if needed after their pet lost.

All our Vets start with CPD where we focus on home euthanasia and how to make sure to make this difficult time a bit easier and not as stressful as it can be.

The at-home euthanasia wishes of the client have been realised the risks to the practice negated.
Home visits for euthanasia are a common request for veterinary practices, both in and out of normal opening hours. A 2018 survey, promoted by the Ralph site, indicated overwhelmingly (97.5%) that families, when given the choice between euthanasia at home or at the practice, will most often choose to be at home. A compelling argument to have access to a reliable and trusted at-home service.

However, home visits take vets from the practice for potentially long periods and the length of a visit can be unpredictable - Families will often request appointment times which may not fit well with the working day of the practice or the availability of staff Out of hours service can add further complications and may cause client satisfaction challenges.
We have established Cloud 9 Vets to create a genuinely beneficial solution for clients, their pets and your Vet Practice by providing respectful and dignified home euthanasia visits.

Since our start in October 2017, our goal has been to give pet owners more choice regarding pet euthanasia at home. Our objectives are extremely clear, we are a complement to the range of services you offer, we aim to be an extension of your practice absolutely not a competition to it. We want to be your at-home euthanasia partner, to be trusted when you need us.
This is positive for the clients and the pets and even economically sensible for the practice. Reports discussed by Dr Caroline Hewson show that up to £26k can be lost per vet during the first two years following in-house euthanasia. There are also other very important points to consider. We are available to help you with home euthanasia for your pet

In order to safeguard you and our vets and to comply with Government regulations there are some requirements you should be aware of and agree to before we confirm your home visit:
    1. If the gentle euthanasia is indoors, only one person can be present during the vet’s visit, other family or friends should say their goodbyes before the vet arrives at your home
    2. There should, at all times, be a two meter distance between the family member and the vet.
    3. Our process involves sedation, you will be able share closeness with your pet after the vet has given the sedative
    4. If you are able to be in your own garden, this greatly reduces the risk of contagion and it may be possible to be more than one person to be with the vet, our vet will advise you.
    5. We are doing all we can to ensure there is closeness, care and compassion during the gentle euthanasia home visit. A peaceful goodbye is so important at such a sensitive and emotional time
    6. Please follow any guidance our vet may give you, it is given to ensure everyones safety and well-being
    7. Thank you for your understanding and consideration in these very difficult and challenging times.
