What Happens When You Make That First Call?
The first call to us is always the hardest, but we’re here to make the process easier. Find out all about that first call to our considerate care co-ordinators in our video here.
When we visit your home to provide gentle dog euthanasia we will start by explaining how the process will work and what you can expect. The gentle two-injection process ensures that your pet will be sedated before the euthanasia injection, most pets feel nothing but some may feel a small pin prick, as we would with an injection, then they will gently drift in to sedation. You may wish to comfort your dog or give them tasty treat at the same time as the first injection, to help make this a positive moment for both of you.

For gentle cat euthanasia at home, our vet will explain the process, please feel free to ask them about the procedure. An initial sedative will be injected, most often at the back of the neck, you cat will not feel any pain from this, but cats are quite like us and a few may act with surprise to this small pin prick. After the sedation, your cat will not feel any pain from the euthanasia injection. At the same time as the first injection you may want to give your cat a treat or maybe their favourite toy, which will help reduce any stress for both of you.

Our vet will help and support you through this dignified process, please ask our vet anything you may wonder over. Our process will start with a gentle sedative to relax your pet before the euthanasia injection. You may wish to comfort your pet and possibly give them a treat or a favourite toy. Your pet will not feel the second injection following the sedative, this is a peaceful way to say goodbye.

For same day bookings, there is an additional £75 same day booking surcharge. If our vet has to travel more than 20 minutes to your address there may be an additional transport fee, you will always be advised of the total fee in advance of the booking.
